Laguna de Somolinos

Enero se estrena con cielo y temperaturas de otoño, pero al atardecer, el invierno gris se apodera de la laguna. Las sombras y la escasa luz que aun incide sobre el relieve dolomítico del páramo que la guarda, invade, como un manto espectral, sus aguas cristalinas.
January opens with sky and autumn temperatures, but at dusk, gray winter takes over the lagoon. The shadows and the little light that still impinges on the dolomite relief of the páramo that keeps it, invades, like a spectral mantle, its crystalline waters.

Somolinos lagoon is located on the south slope of the Sierra de Pela, at 1250 m altitude, next to the village of the same name. This Sierra is located in the northwest of Guadalajara (Spain) and bordering the province of Soria.
The Sierra de Pela and the Somolinos Lagoon were declared Natural Monument in November 2002.
